Hi, I’m Amy.
’m going to keep this About Me pretty straightforward for now. I know I can always update it later. For me, just getting my thoughts out into the black hole we call the internet is a great start. If you’re looking for a “perfectly written” blog, you probably won’t find that here. My brain has been stuck in the idea that everything I put out there has to be perfectly written and deeply enlightening. But that’s not really me.
Some of the best blogs out there feel like you’re having a real conversation with the person writing them. So with that being said, grab your beverage of choice and let me tell you a few facts about me.
- I’ve been married to my husband for 10 years, but we’ve been together 13.
- My parents live close enough that I could throw a rock and hit the house (not that I would ever do that, but I’ve always liked this saying). They are great people who would give you the shirt off their back for friends and family.
- I have two younger brothers who are pretty amazing. One of my brothers has one child and the other one has three children. They are amazing fathers. Their significant others are pretty amazing too.
- I have great in-laws, dodged a bullet with that one!
- I currently have 2 Pomeranian eskimo mix babies, 1 curious cat, and a tortoise. We had a pitbull and another cat but they passed away a few years ago. Miss them greatly.
- I’m very passionate about caring for the animals that live with me, and yes, it’s obsessive.
- I’m a K-2 Special Education Teacher.
- I have a certificate in ABA.
- I’m a personal development junkie. If there is a course or book that crosses my field of vision I have to practice a ton of self control to resist.
- I have a coaching certification and hope to someday use it to help other women find peace within themselves.
- I’m working toward my positive psychology practitioner certification as well as a certification in women’s mental health.
- My mother introduced me to the wonderful hobby of diamond art painting, and I haven’t looked back.
- I’m neurodivergent in some way, and understanding that has helped me make more sense of myself.
- This will be a shocker……I enjoy reading psychological thriller books.
Since 14 is my favorite number and I can’t think of anything else to say about myself, I’ll stop here for now. I’m excited to share my journey of building a Peacefully Structured life.
